    Ultrasonic Testing of Anaerobic Adhesive Coating Quality of Fuel Pump Volute Casing Components

    • In order to avoid rub and impact caused by the poor thread adhesive coating quality in the use of volute casing components, a method of nondestructive testing on the thread joint surface based on the ultrasonic feature scanning was proposed. Five volute casing components samples were designed and manufactured. After the test of the sample was finished, the amplitude characteristic of the ultrasonic echo was used for imaging and the thread adhesive coating quality was evaluated by using the statistical function of the software. The experimental result indicated that the ultrasonic feature scan imaging system can be used to detect the thread adhesive coating quality of volute casing components effectively.
