The Identification of Hairline Crack and Crack in Magnetic Particle Testing of Axial Steel Forging

In magnetic particle testing of axial steel forgings, the magnetic particle indication looks very similar between hairline crack and crack. Because there is a great significant difference in some performance, quality acceptance standards put them in bigger difference. This paper puts forward some methods about the identification of the two defects, which can be used for reference of magnetic particle testing.
