Assessment and Analysis on Suspected Indications in Radiographic Inspection of Plasma Arc Welds of Stainless Steel Pipes

The quality of welds is very important on the pipes system of VLGC ship. Suspected indications on the RT films of the welds were found in the process of radiographic evaluation of stainless steel pipes. Research work was done on the basic root cause of suspected indications and it was concluded that the suspected indications were not due to serious defects. Hereafter, some improvement measures for the cutting and welding procedure of stainless steel pipes were put forward.
