    The Rapid Ultrasonic Phased Array Testing of Crankshaft R-angle Defects

    • To achieve the rapid testing of engine crankshaft R-angle defects, the 3D beam simulation model of crankshaft R-angle parts is developed in the CTS-PA22A phased array ultrasonic testing instrument, and crankshaft R-angle parts are made with cutting groove and hole-type artificial defects. The phased array ultrasonic testing experimental results show that the phased array S-scan, which is with crankshaft R-angle parts 3D beam simulation model, can rapidly and effectively test the R-angle defects of the crankshaft, and also can accurately locate the defects.
