Detection of Debonding Damage of ITER Blanket Based on Acoustic Emission Method

    • The blanket is one of the key parts of ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor). Debonding damage is a kind of major damage types of the first wall in blanket structure, therefore the nondestructive testing of debonding damage is of great significance to the safe running of ITER. In this paper, AE (acoustic emission) method is proposed for the detection of debonding damage generation and propagation. The AE experimental setup is established and AE experiment is conducted for debonding damage detection in double-layer plate structure. The damages are effectively located using multi-sensor localization method based on the region localization and least squares principle. Finally, the feasibility of debonding damage detection in ITER blanket using AE method is validated.
