    Numerical Simulation of Erosion in Elbow Based on CFD and Optimization of Thickness Measurement

    • The role of elbow is to change the flow of medium. The failure of elbow is mainly due to erosion. The numerical simulation of the erosion process about four direction of medium in elbow and horizontal elbow is established by using CFX. The optimization of thickness measurement is based on the simulation analysis outcomes. The on-site testing results show that the optimized method can get full grasp of the erosion status of outer surface of elbow. The undetected errors are avoided effectively.
