Analysis and Correction of Common Wrong Operation in the Penetration Testing of Cast Steel for Supercritical Steam Turbine

This paper describes the dye penetrant testing process for large supercritical steam turbine castings, elaborates some common erroneous penetration operation method by testing personnel and tells the possible serious consequences of penetrant flaw detection caused by the wrong operation method. Finally it shall point out the correct penetration testing method.
