Abstract
This paper theoretically analyzes the influence of the surface roughness on the ultrasonic reflection and refraction mechanism; COMSOL finite element simulation analysis is used to prove that the surface roughness is the cause of ultrasonic amplitude attenuation and enhanced background noise; Finally, through experiments on different roughness experimental samples of different diameters and ultrasound probe, we further validate the effects of surface roughness on ultrasonic thickness measurement.
