Simulation of Crack Detection on Metal Material Based on Eddy Current Thermography

    • In this paper, the simulation model of detecting crack in aluminum material has been established based on the eddy current field theory and magnetic field theory. The problems of defect detecting in aluminum material were simulated by using the software of COMSOL4.4. The distribution and mechanism of eddy current and temperature near the surface of aluminum are analyzed. By observing the changing of the temperature near the surface with different frequencies, the research reveals that the relationship between excitation frequency of eddy current and the heating effect was found out and proper exciting frequency was used to heat the aluminum. Our research results have directive significance for nondestructive detecting.
